Creating a mobile app for your live streams is simple and same as creating an IPTV mobile app.

To create a single page app for your live streaming

  • You have to create a stream group for your streaming channel in MultiCDN settings.

  • And then in APK Builder, under SPA- Live Streaming, click on the “Create an app” button.

  • In the app creation form, give your app name, display name, and app description.

Note:  In App Name, there shouldn’t be any space or special characters given.

  • In the Server URL, the app creation form will automatically read your server URL and display it on the bar.
  • Then in Stream Group ID, give the stream ID you have created in the MultiCDN settings.
  • Now browse and set your app icon and logo.
  • Finally, click on the “Generate App”.

  • Your app creation process begins and when it says at the end like “Click the below button to edit the files”, click on the “Edit Files” button below.

  • Now you have to undergo few settings that involve replacing the custom values in the index.html and theme.css editor pages.
  • In the index.html code editor, you can replace the custom values of address, contact, E-mail, website with your company details.
  • In theme.css code editor, you can change the theme background of your mobile app template.

  • And when you select any one of the options to edit the custom values or background theme, you can see your mobile app design on the right side.

  • You can change the values and click the “Update Files” button.

Note:  In the index.html box code editor, scroll down to find the custom values in the flower brackets (e.g., {{phone number}} as 9876543210) and replace with your company details.

  • And as you replace the values, you can see the changes in the design template.

  • While changing the color background in the theme.css code editor, you can give the color code in between # and ; and then give “Update File”.

  • Once after changing the custom values and the template design, you click on the “Generate APK” to download your app.
  • The app gets downloaded in the zip file format. And after extracting the file from your PC downloads, you can upload the app on the play store.

  • You can use the Release.apk file to upload your app on the play store.
  • And the testing.apk file can be used when you want to test the app on your device.

360-degree Video Live Streaming

The Livebox streaming server supports the live streaming of the 360-degree camera and its source. So, to live stream a 360-degree source in Livebox you can’t do in the regular streaming way, as you have to enable a few settings in the player settings.

To Live stream a 360-degree source,

  • Login Livebox.
  • From the Livebox dashboard, go to Channel Settings.

  • In Player Settings, turn On the Video360 setting.

  • Then click the “Save” button beneath the player on the right side.

  • Now make sure that you have connected your 360-degree camera to the encoder.
  • Then stream the video source captured to the channel you have enabled the Video360 setting using the RTMP URL of the same channel.
  • To preview your source go the Dashboard and click on the player and navigate to the other sides captured by your 360-degree camera.

Playout & Mixer Software Download

Livebox is the only live streaming server that comes with in-built Playout Software and Video Mixer which can be downloaded cost-free. To download Playout Software, Encoder and Video Mixer,

  • Go to Account Settings and click Download.

  • Download option for both Android and Studio shows up.

  • If you are an Android user you can download by clicking Android App, otherwise, click Studio to download PlayoutEncoder, and Video Mixer software.
  • A new page in Livebox with options to download playout and video mixer opens. You can click Download Playout and Video Mixer to get started with the other facet of Livebox.
  • Then click Generate Pin to get your unique pin code to license your authorization to playout and mixer software.

Note:  The generated pin is restricted to be used by one PC. But you can always generate one to a few pins to download and use the software from different PCs.

  • Once you click Generate Pin, the options to generate your pin appears, where you can give your pin name and then click the generate icon to get your pin.

  • Your pin is generated.
  • You can even edit your generated pin as you wish by clicking the edit icon.

  • After editing your pin, click the tick icon to save your changes.

  • The red dot on the pin name suggests that the pin is not in action.

  • The green dot on the pin name suggests that the pin is active, and also it shows the name of the hardware that uses the pin.

  • Now go to your system downloads and complete the installation process of your playout, Encoder and mixer software. The installed file will appear on your desktop as,

  • Click the Mixer and Playout file in your desktop, a new dialog box Encoder-Mixer-Playout opens.

  • In Encoder-Mixer-Playout, you can enter your server name and give the pin generated by Livebox, and then give “Submit”.

Multi-bitrate Streaming Using Encoder Software (New Version)

  • Go to Multi-Bitrate from the navigation menu.
  • In the Multi-Bitrate settings, select your streaming channel first.
  • Now turn on the Multi-Bitrate button.
  • And select any preset of resolutions of your choice by clicking the drop-down menu.
  • Then click the “Save” button.

  • Now give “Service Restart”.

Now the Multi-bitrate settings have been applied to the Livebox streaming server. You can start proceeding with the Encoder settings.

Open the Mixer and Playout software. You can either set up your streaming source from your camera device or by using the playout software.  

  • So, after setting up your camera or adding the streaming source using the playout, open the Encoder window.

  • On the Encoder settings window, click the gear icon to create presets for the resolutions you have selected.

Note:  It is advisable to create presets for the Multi-bitrate streaming beforehand for the resolutions you prefer.

  • Now on the settings, you can create Presets by entering the Audio Bitrate and Video Bitrate for each resolution.
  • So, to get the Video Bitrate and Audio Bitrate values of your resolutions, go to the Livebox Multi-bitrate settings.

  • A dialog box opens, where you can get the details of the resolution preset you have selected.

  • And here you can click the drop-down menu to select the specific resolution and to get its values.

  • Back on the Encoder settings, you can enter the Video Bitrate and Audio Bitrate of the resolution you have selected.

  • 144p- 2560×1440 px
  • 240p- 352×240 px
  • 360p- 480×360 px
  • 720p- 1280×720 px
  • 1080p- 1920×1080 px

  • Then click the “Save Preset” button.

  • Now you can give a name for your preset. Likewise, you can do the same for all the other resolutions.

  • Back on the Multi-bitrate settings, first, copy-paste the channel RTMP URL on the Encoder settings.

  • Now click the “Start button” to initiate the live on your server channel with streaming qualities (resolutions).

You can go on by pushing the live stream to all your social media accounts, where your viewers can adjust the video quality according to their bandwidth.

Instacast Encoder Device Activation

To activate your Livebox Instacast encoder device,

  • Email your Device ID and Hardware Key to the IVB7 support team.

  • The IVB7 support team, in turn, will send you the License Key.
  • Now access the device interface on your browser.

Note:  To access the Instacast Encoder device on your browser, you can use your Device IP along with the port URL (:3978) provided by the IVB7 team. E.g., 127.0.0.1:3978

  • Enter the provided License Key on the License Key bar and click Save.

How to Setup a Radio Station on Livebox Live Radio?

On the Livebox Live Radio app, you can host your own radio station and go on air just like any other professional radio broadcaster.

So to create your radio station,

  • Install Live Radio app from the Livebox app store.
  • On the Live Radio dashboard, scroll down to the “Station Overview”.
  • Click the “Add Station” button.

Now to add music files,

  • Go to Music Files from the navigation menu.

  • Select and add your music files.

And your music files will be added. Now you have to create a Playlist out of the music files you have added.

  • So, select the songs that you want to add in your playlist.

  • And the playlist will be created and you’re all set to begin your first live radio broadcast.

Now to grab the attention of listeners to your radio station,

  • You can provide Public Page link on your websites or even send it through Email.

  • In the case, if you want to publish your radio broadcasts on your website/blogs, you can use the Player Embed Code to embed your radio streams on all your web-based platforms.

Create Livebox TV Channel

How to create a channel in the Livebox TV?

 Before you create a channel on your Livebox TV, you have to create the categories to keep your channels organized. To create your categories,

  • Login to your Livebox TV.
  • Go to “Categories” from the navigation menu.

  • A page with the category specifications opens, under which go to “Add Category” to create your category.
  • In “Add Category”, give your category name and set a thumbnail.
  • Then give “Submit”. And your category is added.

Note:  In the Parent Category option you can set your category as the Root menu or Sub-category within your main category.

Now to create your channel,

  • Go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.

  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name.
  • If you want to distribute your Livebox streams or recordings to your subscribers, then select Livebox as your video type.
  • Then select the Livebox channel from which you want to distribute the content.
  • Once you select your channel, the embed code of your Livebox channel will auto-appear in the Embed code bar.
  • Then give your Livebox TV channel description.
  • Browse and set the thumbnail.
  • And finally, give “Submit” to distribute to your subscribers.

Note:  You can also distribute videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and your other recordings.

To add Youtube videos to your TV channel,

  • Go to the YouTube video that you want to distribute across your TV channel.
  • Right click on the video and click the copy embed code option from the pop-up menu.

  • Now go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.
  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name and category.
  • Select your Video Type as YouTube and paste the embed code.
  • Give your channel description.
  • Set your thumbnail and click “Submit”.
  • The YouTube source is added for distribution across your channel.

To add captured source or recordings to your channel,

  • Go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.
  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name and category.
  • After entering your channel name and category name, select “Video Type” as “Others”.
  • In “Embed Code” bar, enter the URL of your source in m3u8 or MP4 format.
  • Then click “Submit”.

How to Embed Video Conferences on Websites/Blogs?

Now you have the option to embed the video conferencing app on your websites/blogs so that your viewers can join you on the video conferencing call with you.

To embed the video conferencing app on your website/blogs,

  • Create your conference by installing the video conferencing app from the Livebox App Store.
  • Click the ‘Copy Embed Code’ button.

  • Copy the Embed code and use it on your website to embed the app on your website/blogs.

If your website is of WordPress, then you can embed the app by following the below steps.

  • Login to your WordPress website.
  • Go to “New Post” page.
