Create Livebox TV Channel

How to create a channel in the Livebox TV?

 Before you create a channel on your Livebox TV, you have to create the categories to keep your channels organized. To create your categories,

  • Login to your Livebox TV.
  • Go to “Categories” from the navigation menu.

  • A page with the category specifications opens, under which go to “Add Category” to create your category.
  • In “Add Category”, give your category name and set a thumbnail.
  • Then give “Submit”. And your category is added.

Note:  In the Parent Category option you can set your category as the Root menu or Sub-category within your main category.

Now to create your channel,

  • Go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.

  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name.
  • If you want to distribute your Livebox streams or recordings to your subscribers, then select Livebox as your video type.
  • Then select the Livebox channel from which you want to distribute the content.
  • Once you select your channel, the embed code of your Livebox channel will auto-appear in the Embed code bar.
  • Then give your Livebox TV channel description.
  • Browse and set the thumbnail.
  • And finally, give “Submit” to distribute to your subscribers.

Note:  You can also distribute videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and your other recordings.

To add Youtube videos to your TV channel,

  • Go to the YouTube video that you want to distribute across your TV channel.
  • Right click on the video and click the copy embed code option from the pop-up menu.

  • Now go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.
  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name and category.
  • Select your Video Type as YouTube and paste the embed code.
  • Give your channel description.
  • Set your thumbnail and click “Submit”.
  • The YouTube source is added for distribution across your channel.

To add captured source or recordings to your channel,

  • Go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.
  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name and category.
  • After entering your channel name and category name, select “Video Type” as “Others”.
  • In “Embed Code” bar, enter the URL of your source in m3u8 or MP4 format.
  • Then click “Submit”.

You have successfully created your channel on your Livebox TV as well as distributed your content across your channel.

How to Encrypt a Website Created within the Livebox?

After creating your website from Livebox, if your site shows to be Not Secure, then follow the given below steps to secure your website.

  • Go to Websites from the navigation menu and click on Global web settings.

  • Global Web Settings page opens, under HTTP Settings select your site by clicking the drop-down menu.

  • After selecting your site, click on the Secure this website icon.

  • A request is sent to secure your website. It might take you a few seconds.

  • Now go to your website in the fresh tab of your browser and you can see your site is secured.

  • Likewise, to renew the SSL certificate of your site, click on the Renew HTTPs SSL certificate for this domain and the certificate will be renewed for your website.

How to Configure Livebox to Use the GPU for Live Encoding and Transcoding?

While using graphics processor fixed to your server to minimize the CPU load, you have got preset setting involved before converting or transcoding videos through the queue feature. In this article, we will focus on how to change the settings within the queues to use the GPU fixed inside the server. Supported GPUs: NVidia Geforce, Tesla and Quadro models.

Note: This article is only applicable for Livebox servers with in-built NVidia GPUs so make sure that you have a GPU enabled server before you follow the following steps.

  • Go to Queues from the navigation menu.
  • Under Queues, go to “Create Queues”.
  • In Create Queue, click on the “Preset” button located on the right corner.

  • You can click the plus icon to create your own preset.

  • You can set the Video Settings with the required values. You can also click the drop-down menu to select values on video settings.
  • The video Codec setting is usually h264_nvenc

  • The same way in Audio Settings, the Codec is aac

  • If you are not sure about the video and audio settings, you can select the readymade presets for graphics processor (GPU).
  • Even if you want to create a new preset for GPU, you can copy the values from the readymade GPU presets and create a preset with a new name. And by doing so, you can share the GPU load while streaming/converting/transcoding videos through one or more GPU presets.

So now, let’s see how to set a GPU preset while using the Queue feature,

  • Create a queue and a task by giving priority, delay and the number of attempts.
  • In “Source”, add a source either from YouTube, RTMP server or UDP sources, local files, and playlist.
  • Then go to “Destination”.
  • After selecting your destination, now select a “Preset”.
  • You can select the readymade GPU presets or the one you have created it.

  • After selecting your preset, you can click on the “Add” button.
  • Then go to the “Queues Dashboard” and start the queue.
