How to Monitor the Converter (UDP) Device from the Livebox Server?

Now it’s been made possible from the Livebox server to control and monitor your Instacast Converter device activities remotely.

The Instacast Converter device converts the video streaming sources in HTTP and RTMP protocols to UDP streams for broadcast.

So, to monitor or to control your converter device from the Livebox streaming server,

  • Go to Device Monitor under System from the navigation menu.

  • Click the drop-down menu near “Select Device” to select the Converter option.

  • You can use the controls provided under the “Action” menu.
  • You can also use the gear icon to perform the other specific actions in depth.
  • On clicking the gear icon, you can remotely access the main functions of your converter device.

Create Multiple Video Conference Rooms

New apps are always getting added into Livebox and one of the newest is the all-new corporate video conferencing system. You can now conduct training, conferences, webinars, and business meetings within the Livebox. The following steps will provide you clear-cut representations to conduct a video conference within the Livebox live streaming server.

  • Login to your Livebox Server.
  • Go to Apps from the Navigation menu.
  • Install the Video Conferencing app.

How to Create the Client Portal Access Role on the Livebox Streaming Server?

The Client Portal Access option can be used to permit the users permission to use Restream the Livebox server contents and to access the Livebox Video Conferencing app through the Client Portal login.

So, to create the Client Portal role and user for both restreaming & video Conferencing app, follow the below steps.

  • Go to Users& Roles from the navigation menu.

  1. Channels- You can select you streaming channels for the Restream Access.
  2. Push Destination Count- Push Destination count is the number of destination that the user gets the access to Live stream.
  3. Hide Embed Code- If you want to hide the embed code of the allowed streaming channel to your user, you can check the Hide Embed Code box.
  4. Video Conference Limit-  The number of conferences that the user is allowed to create while using the app.
  5. Total Limit- The total number of video conferences limit allotted to your server.

And now you can send the link to the Client Portal (e.g, yourserverdomain.com/clientportal) along with the login credentials to your user.

Pushing Live Streams on Facebook

Multi-channel usability is one of the features that Livebox integrates as it helps in distributing content around the globe over multiple mediums efficiently. Through Livebox the users can send their live streaming videos to all media that supports RTMP sources. Facebook is one such media which is supported by Livebox to stream live videos. The following steps will provide you clear-cut representations to stream your videos in Facebook live using the Livebox streaming server.

  • Create your channel on Livebox and stream a source to the channel.
  • Then preview the live source on the Livebox Dashboard.

  • Now go to Push Destinations under Manage Channels.

  • Push Destinations window opens, select your streaming channel and then click the “Add Destination” button located on the right side or the thunder button on the left side to select your destination.

  • A dialog box “Share on” with several destinations shows up. As you wanted to stream live on Facebook, select the Facebook option and then click Push live stream to Facebook to get connected to Facebook.

Note:  If you select the option Automatically TURN ON when adding push value, the live stream will automatically begin to happen on your Facebook destination once the live streaming set-up is done. Otherwise, you have to manually turn on the push value followed by giving Go Live on Facebook live streaming settings page.

  • Once you select Push live stream to Facebook, a pop-up notification on the top left of your browser appears, on which you can give “Always allow” and click “Done”.

  • Now you’ll be able to access your Facebook login page.

  • Once you click the “Next” button, a Connect your Live stream to the Live API Facebook page opens, you can minimize the window to see your Facebook destination being added on the push destination.

Note:  If you didn’t select the Automatically TURN ON when adding push value option, then you have to Turn On the push value to start your live streaming.

  • Then go to Facebook, where it starts to fetch your Livebox contents for streaming.

  • Your contents are now fetched, so you can give nice description and title to your stream and also decide the audience to share your live stream with.
  • Then click on the Go Live button on the right bottom corner.

Note: Unless you click on the Go Live button, the live streaming won’t happen on your Facebook timeline.

360-degree Video Live Streaming

The Livebox streaming server supports the live streaming of the 360-degree camera and its source. So, to live stream a 360-degree source in Livebox you can’t do in the regular streaming way, as you have to enable a few settings in the player settings.

To Live stream a 360-degree source,

  • Login Livebox.
  • From the Livebox dashboard, go to Channel Settings.

  • Then click the “Save” button beneath the player on the right side.

  • Now make sure that you have connected your 360-degree camera to the encoder.
  • Then stream the video source captured to the channel you have enabled the Video360 setting using the RTMP URL of the same channel.
  • To preview your source go the Dashboard and click on the player and navigate to the other sides captured by your 360-degree camera.

Playout & Mixer Software Download

Livebox is the only live streaming server that comes with in-built Playout Software and Video Mixer which can be downloaded cost-free. To download Playout Software, Encoder and Video Mixer,

  • Go to Account Settings and click Download.

  • If you are an Android user you can download by clicking Android App, otherwise, click Studio to download PlayoutEncoder, and Video Mixer software.
  • A new page in Livebox with options to download playout and video mixer opens. You can click Download Playout and Video Mixer to get started with the other facet of Livebox.
  • Then click Generate Pin to get your unique pin code to license your authorization to playout and mixer software.

Note:  The generated pin is restricted to be used by one PC. But you can always generate one to a few pins to download and use the software from different PCs.

  • Once you click Generate Pin, the options to generate your pin appears, where you can give your pin name and then click the generate icon to get your pin.

  • You can even edit your generated pin as you wish by clicking the edit icon.

Multi-bitrate Streaming Using Encoder Software (New Version)

  • Go to Multi-Bitrate from the navigation menu.
  • In the Multi-Bitrate settings, select your streaming channel first.
  • Now turn on the Multi-Bitrate button.
  • And select any preset of resolutions of your choice by clicking the drop-down menu.
  • Then click the “Save” button.

Now the Multi-bitrate settings have been applied to the Livebox streaming server. You can start proceeding with the Encoder settings.

Open the Mixer and Playout software. You can either set up your streaming source from your camera device or by using the playout software.  

  • So, after setting up your camera or adding the streaming source using the playout, open the Encoder window.

  • On the Encoder settings window, click the gear icon to create presets for the resolutions you have selected.

Note:  It is advisable to create presets for the Multi-bitrate streaming beforehand for the resolutions you prefer.

  • So, to get the Video Bitrate and Audio Bitrate values of your resolutions, go to the Livebox Multi-bitrate settings.

On the Livebox Live Radio app, you can host your own radio station and go on air just like any other professional radio broadcaster.

So to create your radio station,

  • Install Live Radio app from the Livebox app store.
  • On the Live Radio dashboard, scroll down to the “Station Overview”.
  • Click the “Add Station” button.

How to create a channel in the Livebox TV?

 Before you create a channel on your Livebox TV, you have to create the categories to keep your channels organized. To create your categories,

  • Login to your Livebox TV.
  • Go to “Categories” from the navigation menu.

  • A page with the category specifications opens, under which go to “Add Category” to create your category.
  • In “Add Category”, give your category name and set a thumbnail.
  • Then give “Submit”. And your category is added.

Note:  In the Parent Category option you can set your category as the Root menu or Sub-category within your main category.

Now to create your channel,

  • Go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.

  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name.
  • If you want to distribute your Livebox streams or recordings to your subscribers, then select Livebox as your video type.
  • Then select the Livebox channel from which you want to distribute the content.
  • Once you select your channel, the embed code of your Livebox channel will auto-appear in the Embed code bar.
  • Then give your Livebox TV channel description.
  • Browse and set the thumbnail.
  • And finally, give “Submit” to distribute to your subscribers.

Note:  You can also distribute videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and your other recordings.

To add Youtube videos to your TV channel,

  • Go to the YouTube video that you want to distribute across your TV channel.
  • Right click on the video and click the copy embed code option from the pop-up menu.

  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name and category.
  • Select your Video Type as YouTube and paste the embed code.
  • Give your channel description.
  • Set your thumbnail and click “Submit”.

  • Go to “Channels” from the navigation menu.
  • In “Channel”, go to “Add Channel” and give your channel name and category.
  • After entering your channel name and category name, select “Video Type” as “Others”.
