How to Set Up the Livebox Internet Bonding Device?

Double, triple, quadruple your Internet speed by using the Livebox Internet Bonding device. If you are facing network failover or if you want to maintain the bandwidth robustness while on live, you can gallop your current Internet connections to new speeds by using this bonding device.

To initially set up your Livebox Bonding device,

  • Turn On the Livebox Internet Bonding device.
  • And access the device interface on your PC using the IP 192.168.95.1.
  • On the device interface, pick up the Device ID and Hardware Key and send it to the IVB7 support team through Email.

  • So, after entering the License Key, you can click Save.

  • Now you will be taken to the Livebox Bonding device login interface and you can login. (The IVB7 team will provide you the login credentials)

  • Back on your system interface, you have to reboot the server first.

  • To configure the device, enter the Server IP and Server Key provided by the IVB7 team and click “Submit” button.

  • Now “Insert SIM cards” with data in the slots given on the device.
  • Then you have to reboot each SIM card.

Note: 

  1. Master- When you set a SIM as Master, it plays the role of the main SIM card.
  2. Backup- When the Master SIM card fails, the Backup SIM becomes
    the Main card.
  3. ON- All the turned ON SIM card data combines to the Master
    SIM card.
  4. OFF- You can Turn OFF the SIM you are no longer using.
  • You can also select the Network for each SIM card.

You can now connect the Live Radio app to the BUTT streaming software for real-time radio broadcasting.

(BUTT is a multi-operating system client broadcaster. The software is compatible with Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.)To start your live radio broadcasting,

  • Install the Live Radio app from the Livebox App Store.
  • Create your Radio Station.

(If required you can also add a music playlist to your station.)

  • Make sure that you have enabled your IceCast Port on the Live Radio app‘s ‘Settings’.

  • Then enable your port and ‘Save’ the settings.

Note:  You can get the port number under ‘Connection Information’ (IceCast Clients details) in Streamer/DJ Accounts menu.

  • Open the BUTT streaming software.
  • Click the ‘Settings’ button.
  • A dialog box opens, where under the ‘Main’ menu, you’ll get the ‘Server Settings’.
  • To add your Server, click the ‘ADD’ button.

  • So back on your BUTT settings, enter a name, select your type, and then give your server address, port, and IceCast mountpoint. (Follow the next step to get the password)

  • After entering all the server details, you can click the ‘Add’ button.

  • Now go to the ‘Audio’ settings and select your audio device (microphone).

Once the information has been saved, a ‘Connection established’ message will appear along with a configuration summary. You can now go on with your radio broadcasting by clicking on ‘Play’.

That’s it, you’re now broadcasting!

You can share your thoughts by talking over the microphone and it will go on air through the Live Radio app. 

  • Go to your station profile to check the radio broadcasting.

Your playlist will continue to run on your broadcasting once you stop the streaming on the BUTT software.  

Use the start and stop button on the BUTT software to go ON/OFF the air. 

  • You can also make your guest talk on your radio shows from their location by sharing the streamer/DJ credentials and connection information (by installing BUTT software, your guests can join your broadcasts with the provided streamer/DJ credentials and connection information).
  • You can also embed your radio broadcasts on your websites by using the Player Embed Code.

How to Live Stream on Facebook through the Push Destination Option?

  Multi-channel usability is one of the features that Livebox integrates as it helps in distributing content around the globe over multiple mediums efficiently. Through Livebox the users can send their live streaming videos to all media that supports RTMP sources. Facebook is one such media which is supported by Livebox to stream live videos. The following steps will provide you clear-cut representations to stream your videos in Facebook live using the Livebox streaming server.

  • Create your channel on Livebox and stream a source to the channel.
  • Then preview the live source on the Livebox Dashboard.

  • Push Destinations window opens, select your streaming channel and then click the “Add Destination” button located on the right side or the thunder button on the left side to select your destination.

  • A dialog box “Share on” with several destinations shows up. As you wanted to stream live on Facebook, select the Facebook option and then click Push live stream to Facebook to get connected to Facebook.

Note:  If you select the option Automatically TURN ON when adding push value, the live stream will automatically begin to happen on your Facebook destination once the live streaming set-up is done. Otherwise, you have to manually turn on the push value followed by giving Go Live on Facebook live streaming settings page.

  • Once you select Push live stream to Facebook, a pop-up notification on the top left of your browser appears, on which you can give “Always allow” and click “Done”.

  • Once you click the “Next” button, a Connect your Live stream to the Live API Facebook page opens, you can minimize the window to see your Facebook destination being added on the push destination.

Note:  If you didn’t select the Automatically TURN ON when adding push value option, then you have to Turn On the push value to start your live streaming.

  • Then go to Facebook, where it starts to fetch your Livebox contents for streaming.

  • Your contents are now fetched, so you can give nice description and title to your stream and also decide the audience to share your live stream with.
  • Then click on the Go Live button on the right bottom corner.

Note: Unless you click on the Go Live button, the live streaming won’t happen on your Facebook timeline.

How to Create Multi CDN Providers on Livebox?

Create CDN providers from the Livebox MultiCDN settings to deliver smooth streaming content to various geographic locations. Through the CDN providers, you can deliver a vast amount of contents across the globe and offer a better experience to your end-users. The other advantage of using the Multi CDN providers is, if one CDN provider network fails or faces any interruption, still the content will continue to stream live through the other alternative providers. So it’s simply if the one CDN provider goes down, the other one comes in rescue.

Let’s see how to create CDN providers to increase the efficiency of the live streaming process.

  • Go to MultiCDN under Settings from the navigation menu.

Note:  You can create streaming CDN group with the streaming URLs of your Livebox server channel or any other RTMP server.

  • Also, give a user name.

  • Now to fill in the CDN server list, go to the server that you are going to assign as an alternate CDN provider.

  • After filling the streaming CDN server list, enter a current CDN streaming server name.
  • Then enter the receiver device name and ID just for identification between the multi CDN providers.
  • Then click on the “Submit” to create your CDN service provider.

  • And when your current server network fails or faces any interruption, you can turn on the created CDN provider’s CDN streaming server status button to deliver the content to your end-users continuously.

Always see to that a streaming content or any other content related to the current live streaming is running on your CDN provider so that when the failover occurs you can easily tackle the situation by turning on the CDN provider.

How to conduct Multi-bitrate Streaming Using the Livebox Playout and Encoder?

To conduct Multi-bitrate streaming using the Livebox Playout and Encoder software,

  • Create your channel in the Livebox streaming server.
  • Go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu. Under manage channels, select Multi-bitrate.

  • In Multi-bitrate page, select your channel and turn On multi-bitrate.

  • Once you turn on Multi-bitrate, the preset options will appear. You can set the required resolution and click “Save”.

Note:  You also have an option to edit or set your required preset.

  • Once you click save, RTMP URLs for your resolution gets listed below. Make a note of the required RTMP links and click “Save”.
  • With each URL of definite qualities (resolutions), the player will adjust video quality to that of viewers bandwidth.*The first given URL is the RTMP URL of your channel. The remaining URLs are RTMP URLs with resolutions.

Note:  The RTMP URL should be used to initiate the live streaming on your server channel. And the other RTMP URLs of resolutions can be used to deliver the same streaming content in different resolutions.

  • After clicking save, give “Service Restart” to get your changes applied.

  • In the Livebox Playout software, click “Add File” to browse video source from your PC and to add video source in your Schedule Playlist.  (You also have the option to add your camera source and YouTube URLs through the Playout software)

  • You can enable (select) the “Preview” option after selecting your video device.

  • Copy the URLs from the Multi-bitrate settings and enter it in the given URL bars. Then set the bitrate. (Give the bitrate same as the resolution of the RTMP link you have entered in the URL bar)

  • After setting up all these options, click on the “Start” button.

  • Once the streaming is started, it shows the Streaming Started status below the Start button.

  • To view your live MBR streaming status with the definite video quality, go the Livebox Dashboard and check on the player.

  • Then go to Viewers Report to check the RTMP stats of your streaming channel. It shows audio and video bitrate of your channel.

How to Live Stream Using the Livebox Encoder and Playout Software?

Livebox is the only streaming server that comes with many inbuilt features that are all needed for the complete live streaming process. Livebox doesn’t stop with streaming, transcoding, and Multi-Bitrate but also performs other role-plays like playout, video mixer, and encoder. Let’s get started with how to stream using playout and encoder software provided by Livebox.

  • Go to Playout window.

  • Click “Add File” to browse video source from your PC and to add video source in your Schedule Playlist.

  • Your video source is added. So, now click “Play” to play your video in Playout Preview.

  • You can preview your source and also enable and adjust the audio of your video source.

  • Create your channel in Livebox.
  • Then go to Channel Dashboard under Manage Channels from the navigation menu.
  • In Channel Dashboard click Streaming URL to copy the streaming RTMP URL.
  • Go to Encoder-Mixer-Playout and minimize your playout window and then get into Encoder.

  • A new Encoder window opens, where you can select your playout device in Video Device and then Audio Device, and then enter the copied RTMP URL in the URL tab.
  • Click “Preview” if you want to preview your live stream and then give “Start”.

Note:  Video Device is your device from where you’re taking your source to encode. And Audio Device is also mentioned (Streaming Playout Device) in the illustration as same as video device because we did enable audio settings in Playout settings.

How to Mix Streams Using the Livebox Mixer?

 The Livebox mixer is one of the dimensions of the Livebox streaming server. With the Livebox mixer, you can mix and match your streaming contents based upon your needs. And also, you can add effects and configurations to your streams by using the Livebox mixer.

  • Login to your Encoder-Mixer-Playout software and open the Livebox Mixer window.

  • Click inside the “Add Source” area to add your video source. Likewise, you can add two or more sources to proceed with your mixing.

  • A new dialog box “Menu_Dialog_Form” opens, where click the option “Add File” to add your local files.

Note: -To add your professional camera or webcam sources, click the Add Live option.-To add URL from any other media platforms, click the Add URL option.-To add your Livebox playout sources, click the Add Playlist option.

  • Now your sources are added, click the drop-down menu from the “Transition” option and select the required transition effect and also set time for your transition effect.

Note:  Scroll down for more options like adding the scrolling text, PIP option and also alternative audio file for your source. You can also remove your source by clicking the remove option.

  • You can see different transition effects for the added source in the below illustration. There are so many interesting transition effects available for your contents.

  • You can view your source in the preview area. If you want to set or change your background in the preview area, click “BG” to have the background for your streaming project.

  • After doing all these settings, you can click “Save” to save it to your local files. In the same way, you can click the option “Load” to take your saved contents from your local files (This is optional if you are doing it for your future broadcast purpose).
  • The marked arrow portion is to manually set your transition time.

  • Now go to the Livebox encoder and select your Video Device and Audio Device.
  • You can also go to your usual encoder to encode your source.

  • From Livebox Channel Dashboard copy the streaming URL and paste it in the Livebox encoder URL bar.
  • To preview your stream, click the preview option.
  • And then click the “Start” option to stream your contents.

How to Embed Livebox Live Chatting on Websites/Blogs?

In Livebox, live chatting between the event organizer, channel owner or the Livebox admin with viewers can be easily done with the following steps.

  • Go to Channel Dashboard from the navigation menu.
  • Inside the chatbox, you can enter your name. And then you can type your message in the message bar.

  • To delete your messages, you can click and use the delete button.

  • Now to embed your chatting session on your blogs or websites, first select your streaming channel on which you are conducting the live interaction.

  • And then click the Embed Code button of that streaming channel.

  • You’ll get the embed codes for your player as well as the chat. To get the chat embed code, scroll down and based upon whether your site is secure or not, you can prefer between the Embed Code and the Secure Embed Code.

Note:  If your site is secure i.e, https encrypted, then you can use the Secure Embed Code to embed your chatting session on your blogs or website. If your site is not secure, then you can go on with the normal Embed Code.
